GTA Game

For this project, Katherine, Brooke, and I will be discussing the aspect of rape in the game. We feel that the fact that rape is even an option is very disturbing. We will be looking at different sources and have found some already. One interesting source we found stated that hackers made rape an option, but that problem has not been addressed yet.

Project 4

For project four I will be arguing why drug testing in schools should not be allowed. My main points of argument will be about how the testing does not actually have any effect on the usage of drugs, how the testing is a waste of money, and how students will continue in their ways without regards to the testing. I will also talk about how students find ways around the testing. I personally have been drug tested twice at my high school, and I know first hand how inconvenient it is, even for the students. I had to wait in a room until I had to go to the bathroom, resulting in me missing multiple class periods and even tests and quizzes. The amount of water I was allowed to drink was even limited because the water 'might dilute' the drugs, which is very incorrect. I would have had to drink gallons and had over a full day for the drugs to be diluted. I will try and include some other points of view as well, from people who support drug testing. (I am sorry this is so late! I had missed class on Wednesday due to my health, and then all over spring break was at doctors appointment after doctors appointment and really did not even think to look at what all I had missed, I hope you understand!, thanks)

Project 3 Road Map

I am very excited for project three. I will be discussing event planning since that is what I am here to learn how to do. My major is Parks, Recreation, and Tourism management, or PRTM. I will use resources that describe PRTM and how it relates back to event planning. It will be interesting to see what resources I will find pertaining to event planning, maybe columns about it? or a beginners guide? Event planning is something a lot of people find interesting and fun so I think resources will be easy to come by and fun to read. I'm looking forward to starting it!

Assignment One

Assignment One was actually not as bad as I was expecting it to be. I had trouble finding the text that I wanted to use but after I did everything came pretty easily. I used two outside sources that were fairly easy to find and related back to my subject very well. I tried not to stress myself out about the number of words and ended up being fine in that area. The conference to go over my essay was very helpful and I really appreciated that. I wrote mostly about the two questions proposed in the project assignment, how this text was from an author and how this author differs from what we usually consider an author. Overall, this project was fun to write and I really enjoyed it.

Hi, I'm Mary Wise Howle from Charleston, SC. I am a freshman and am majoring in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management. I have three brothers, two older, one younger and no sisters. I also have an English Mastiff named Montwo. I have moved multiple times but grew up mostly in Charlotte, NC but moved to Charleston before my senior year of high school. I am a Kappa Delta here at Clemson and love it.
